The Dusty Miller is a family-friendly pub owned by chef-patron Chris Cleary and his wife, Michelle. As we arrived for our midweek dinner, the restaurant was lively and brimming with satisfied diners, yet the service was still swift and welcoming.

Chris is passionate about quality, and loves using the freshest, local produce he can source. Every day, he calls the local fishmonger for the best catch of the day. I started with a light dish of tender squid served with mayo that boasted a lovely kick of chilli, while my partner began with delicate and flavourful leek, onion and potato soup. My husband’s main of pork chops and white pudding – sourced from a nearby farm – was deliciously succulent, as was my rib-eye steak. I finished with a sensational grappa-filled panna cotta, completed by sharp coulis made from local raspberries. My husband couldn’t resist the decadent sticky toffee pudding with a dollop of vanilla ice cream. Each course of perfectly cooked seasonal pub grub was exquisitely presented. Sunday lunch is a firm favourite with locals, and the pub also boasts a large garden, making it the perfect spot when you’re looking for a place to get together with family or friends.

Overall, The Dusty Miller is a great little place with big gastronomic delights. A visit is highly recommended.
