Bringing the Wild West east, Panchos Cantina serves up a welcome slice of Tex-Mex (Texan and Mexican to the uninitiated) to Southend. Southern classics include the extra spicy jambalaya - an authentic Louisiana dish of chicken, smoked ham and chorizo sausage, cooked in a rich Creole sauce and served on a bed of rice - and the Louisiana tuna melt. Or head down Mexico way for spicy enchiladas and burritos. Panchos is fun for the whole family - the kids' menu is a fantastic £4.95 for a main, drink and ice cream. With its distinctive yellow frontage and Mexican decorations, Panchos is fun from the outset. Their slogan is 'Forever Fiesta', and they're certainly living up to it. In the evenings, expect to be entertained by lively Latin and salsa music from Mexico, Spain, Brazil and the rest of South America, and prepare yourself for a post-dinner boogie with a sharing jug of sangria.
