Open seven days a week in Westcliff-on-Sea, Oldhams is a family-owned fish restaurant that recently celebrated its 50th anniversary of serving some of the finest fish and chips in Essex. The team’s aim is simple: serve the highest-quality fresh ingredients, fried in top-quality oil, by experienced staff who care. It is this consistent approach, matched with friendly service, that gained them the prestigious Fish & Chips Quality Award presented by the National Federation of Fish Friers – they’re one of only a few places in Essex to be given such an award.
Where possible, Oldhams supports sustainable fisheries in their purchasing and ethical sourcing of other products. The menu ranges from traditional fish and chips to locally sourced sausages, as well as tasty vegetarian dishes, and, to round things off, a range of Rossi ice creams. Alongside the ever-popular takeaway, there are two fully licensed and serviced restaurants, which can accommodate 32 diners on the ground floor and 42 diners upstairs.
A selection of ale and lager is available, as well as a good choice of wine by the glass or bottle. Bookings for groups of ten or more are taken, otherwise the restaurant operates on a first-come first-served basis. Bradley Oldham and his staff look forward to seeing you soon.
