The Queen's Head is beautifully located on the banks of the River Roding - in summer, guests can relax in the idyllic beer garden, watching the willows dance over the water. The pub has deservedly received several accolades, due in part to the friendly service and ambience. Original beams give a rustic feel to the dining area, providing a comfortable setting in which to enjoy the excellent food and drink.

The ingredients are all locally sourced and everything at The Queen's Head is made on-site. The pan-roasted scallops are perfectly cooked and an excellent starter, while the roast Lancashire goose and wild mushroom and butternut squash risotto are both delicious choices for mains. The food is so divine that having three courses is a must; so indulge in homemade ginger ice cream, passion-fruit sorbet or delicate, handmade petit fours like sherbet and lemon macaroons, blackberry financiers, chocolate toadstools and raspberry matchsticks - all are as pretty as a picture and taste heavenly. A light lunch menu is available, as well as an excellent Sunday lunch. On the occasional Friday make sure you catch the jazz and soul bands, which are not to be missed. The Queen's Head also hosts two charity hog roasts during the May and August Bank Holidays which, just like the pub itself, will impress the whole family.
