Perry Green, Bishop’s Stortford, SG10 6EF
A classic British pub situated in the pretty village of Perry Green, The Hoops Inn is a relaxed watering hole you'll be glad to find. The warm, inviting surroundings make visitors feel right at home, while the hearty home-cooked food and fine ale on offer make sure you feel spoilt for choice. Built in the mid 1800s, the inn is steeped in history and was particularly significant during the First and Second World Wars, when it was frequented by servicemen who had been billeted within the vicinity. In 1990 the premises were acquired by the Henry Moore Foundation - an arts charity set up by the sculptor himself. At this time, many well-known stars were known to visit the pub with Moore and his family, including actress Julie Andrews and the great poet, W.H. Auden. Since then, The Hoops Inn has continued to provide quality food and drink for local customers and visitors alike, and has received recognition for its gastronomic offering in publications including The Good Food Guide.

There are many seasonal delights to tempt the palate, including fish pie accompanied by sautéed spring greens, peas and asparagus, and gnocchi with sun-blushed tomato pesto and mozzarella. For dessert, indulge in chocolate fondant with caramel ice cream or opt for a platter of artisan cheese - whatever you choose, you're sure to enjoy dining at The Hoops Inn. From Wednesday to Friday, between 5pm and 7pm, you can even get two courses for £10. Booking is highly recommended
