Originally built in 1868, The Maltings sits proudly on the riverside in the heart of historic Ely. Its unrivalled, idyllic location makes it perfect for enjoying time with family and friends on special occasions or while catching up over coffee.

Simple yet stylish, the informal atmosphere of The Maltings ensures guests feel immediately welcomed. Floor-to-ceiling windows provide picturesque views across the green - complete with resident ducks - as well as the marina, where cruisers drift pleasantly by. With mid-morning snacks through to light lunches and afternoon cream tea with scones, the varied menu is designed to offer excellent choice and value. While little ones can go to town on hand-breaded, free-range chicken strips with peas and fries or get their five-a-day from fresh fruit salads, grown-ups can savour freshly prepared baguettes, hand-pressed gourmet burgers or Newmarket sausage and mash with onion gravy.

Perfect for private events, the impressive Elysian Hall, with its exposed brickwork and high-vaulted ceilings, provides a coveted backdrop for anniversary dinners, parties and wedding celebrations. Private dining starters include bruschetta with roast peppers, cream cheese, pesto and rocket. Main courses feature dishes such as chicken breast with pork stuffing and Port jus, while over on the dessert list, Pavlovas and brandy snaps filled with Champagne sorbet vie for your attention.
