Le Benaix Bar & Brasserie
Following the success of sister venue Le Bouchon, the equally refi ned Le Benaix Bar & Brasserie opened in the picturesque village of Rettendon Common and is quickly building a great reputation in Essex and beyond. The 16th-century building that it calls home boasts oodles of character, with oak beams and two glorious log-burning fires, which make for a warm welcome. In the summer months, it’s hard to resist the draw of al fresco dining within the stunning and spacious landscaped gardens.
Le Benaix’s six Michelin-trained chefs have crafted a variety of thoroughly enticing menus, each one oozing class. The à la carte menu changes every eight weeks, but you can expect to find exquisite dishes whenever you visit. Seared tuna with red pepper sorbet, 30-day-aged fillet steak and pan-roasted monkfish are just a few of the opulent options to choose from, but be sure to save room for a sweet. You’ll struggle to resist the indulgent Jaffa chocolate mousse with blood orange sorbet. Those dining between 5.30pm and 6.30pm between Monday and Saturday will receive a 20-per-cent discount from their bill, meaning that a sumptuous meal out needn’t be reserved for just a special occasion.
Le Benaix also offers a newly refurbished private function room that’s ideal for intimate family dining, corporate meals and celebrations.
