Pubs and Bars with Restaurants
Pint Shop is all about creating a place that embraces eating and drinking equally. People from all walks of life come to this popular spot to celebrate lip-smacking food and excellent drink in one place. As soon as you step through the door, you will feel at home whether you’re having a few beers, light lunch or a full-blown feast.
The inspiration for Pint Shop came from the beer houses of the 1830s. The original beer houses, or Tom and Jerry Shops, as they became known, are viewed by many as the birthplace of today’s pub. Head inside Pint Shop and you’ll find a light and breezy venue kitted out with wooden tables and chairs, trendy lighting and neutral tones. The large windows let in plenty of natural light and the walls are adorned with local art. The gorgeous bar area is a great place to begin, as the team is proud to have 17 beers on keg and six cask ales. If beer isn’t your thing, there is an impressive selection of gin, whisky and wine.
Food takes the form of stylish, modern pub grub that uses local produce where possible. On the all-day menu expect to see the likes of gin-cured trout with buttermilk pancakes and beetroot and orange salad, smoked and charred pork riblets with barbecue sauce and winter slaw, and celeriac and apple croquettes. Mains are just as interesting and full of flavour. Choose devilled lamb shoulder kebab, pork belly with salt-baked celeriac and cavolo nero, or chicken tikka curry served with a British samosa, rice and peanut and coriander sauce. Vegetarians can sink their teeth into the likes of sweet and sour cauliflower salad with pumpkin seeds, raisins, fresh cheese and flatbread croutons. Finish with a chocolate pot and cookie, or a delectable sundae.
Pint Shop takes the spirit of the original beer houses, with craft beer, intimacy and fun, and throws in killer food cooked on coals. It’s all delivered by a bunch of amazing people – what’s not to love?
