Loch Fyne

0.5 miles
37 Trumpington Street, Cambridge, CB2 1QY

Situated right in the centre of historic Cambridge, Loch Fyne effortlessly achieves both style and substance. The restaurant can be found in a 500-year-old former pub just across the road from the Fitzwilliam Museum. The interior is light and airy; high ceilings are adorned with original feature exposed beams. As well as boasting an elegant but relaxed atmosphere, Loch Fyne also has a separate bar area ideal for pre-dinner drinks. The attractive outdoor seating area is a must for al fresco dining in warmer months, whether you’re visiting for brunch, lunch or dinner.

Seafood is the primary focus of the seasonally changing menu, and the fresh produce used plays a big part in Loch Fyne’s reputation as a purveyor of excellence. Fresh seafood is delivered daily, all of which is sustainably fished or farmed – shellfish comes in straight from the loch. The set menu offers exceptional value for money with two courses coming in at just £10.95 and three courses costing £12.95. Options change weekly and it’s available until 6pm every day. You’ll find select dishes from the standard menu, so why not start proceedings with Loch Fyne oysters? Look forward to main courses of whole roasted sea bass or succulent Scottish rope-grown mussels in garlic and cream sauce. There’s something to suit every taste, with a rib-eye steak and Aberdeen chargrilled burger for meat-lovers. Desserts include crème brûlée with shortbread and glazed lemon tart served with lemon meringue mess – surely dining out doesn’t get much better than this?
