Orchard Kitchen at Marks Hall Estate
Marks Hall Estate is a beautiful 2200-acre heritage landscape with a 200-acre arboretum at its heart, in the north Essex countryside. The arboretum features impressive trees and stunning lakeside gardens. Visitors can enjoy walks around the lakes and along the leafy paths through ancient woodland. The arboretum and gardens have been designed to reveal new vistas and colours each time you visit. The estate has a long and varied history from Norman times to WWII.
Several heritage buildings still exist, including the well-presented Essex Barns – which house the ever-popular Orchard Kitchen and gift shop – and the Coach House events venue. With a range of delicious homemade food and freshly baked cakes on offer, the Orchard Kitchen is the perfect spot in which to relax while exploring the estate. Breakfast is served from 10am, and lunch from midday until 2.30pm. You’ll find daily specials, homemade soups, freshly made sandwiches, jacket potatoes and a selection of children’s meals. You can pick up something tasty and recharge with a selection of drinks throughout the day, or book an afternoon tea
for the perfect family day out. This restaurant happily caters for those with dietary requirements. Christmas lunches at the Orchard Kitchen are always popular, so be sure to book in advance. The Coach House is a first-class award-winning country wedding venue, available
year-round for all kinds of events, from parties to corporate launches.
