The Old Moot House
The charming village of Castle Hedingham is home to The Old Moot House, a delightful bistro dating back to the 15th century. Families, couples and groups of friends all assemble here to enjoy fantastic food and drink in a delightfully convivial ambience. Pop by and treat yourself to afternoon tea, or go the whole hog and indulge in a three-course feast. The à la carte menu features a plethora of tempting options, such as a starter of sautéed scallops wrapped in pancetta with pea shoots and a maple syrup glaze or a tempting main of braised lamb shank with balsamic and red wine jus. On Wednesdays enjoy steak night - for just £12.95, you can choose from a sirloin, rump or rib-eye and add peppercorn, stilton or Diane sauce.
