Just a mile from Rutland Water and housed in an 18th-century stone building with a Collyweston slate roof, The Fox is situated in a quiet, idyllic village. The pub underwent a seven-month refurbishment in 2014, which brought it up to date without losing its historic charm.
Inside, there’s a beautiful restaurant area, a lounge area with wood burners, flagstone flooring and exposed oak beams, and a new oak bar built by a local craftsman. The Fox embodies all that a traditional pub should: think real ales, homemade food and a cosy atmosphere.
The pub won the Rutland CAMRA Pub of the Year 2016 and 2017, proof of the quality real ale found behind the bar. The options change frequently and are chosen from micro, local and national brewers to offer something for all. Grab a pint from the bar and take it to the attractive patio garden, where you can soak up the rays.
The menu is updated with the seasons and features wholesome, home-cooked food that’s made using fresh ingredients wherever possible. If you pop by on a Sunday you can enjoy a traditional lunch with two roast options to choose from.
