The Plough at Normanton
Licensees and hosts Mark, Rachael and their dog Henry welcome you to The Plough – a proper pub with a friendly community atmosphere and high-quality, traditional British meals. The dog-friendly pub stocks a great selection of real ale, lager, cider, wine, gin and spirits. The menus change every six weeks and feature a variety of light bites, sandwiches, pies, steaks, Sunday roasts, and quality chef’s specials. The team showcases the best of local, seasonal produce and caters for a range of dietary requirements. Pub classics are available throughout the week, with steak night every Tuesday and Thursday. Throughout the summer, the barbecue is fired up in the large beer garden, which the Nottingham Post’s Food Sleuth said ‘may be the best beer garden in the shire’.
The Wolds Suite function room can host up to 60 people and is as flexible as it is inexpensive, making it perfect for private parties, functions and business meetings. Events are held throughout the year, including the annual beer festival in July, dog show in August, New Year’s Eve party and New Year’s Day charity walk, as well as boules tournaments, golf days, ladies’ race days, and numerous village events for the local community and parish council. On special occasions, the gin tent makes an appearance, with 50 different gins on offer. To keep up to date with these events and more, follow The Plough on Facebook.
