The menu at Bows combines a sumptuous carvery comprising a selection of freshly roasted meats, savoury pies and vegetarian dishes, with a comprehensive à la carte menu of traditional British and international fare. To start, find classics such as soup, melon with strawberry and ginger compote, mussels and bruschetta alongside tasty pressed smoked mackerel terrine and barbecue spare ribs. Mains will satisfy any taste or appetite. From the stove find braised lamb shank, salmon or pan-fried chicken. Carnivores will love the selection of steaks from the grill, all served with fluffy chunky chips, tomato and mushroom. The food is fresh and the portions are certainly generous. There's also a selection of pasta and vegetarian choices available, such as roast vegetable tart and a porcini mushroom risotto - creamy, comforting and full of flavour - as well as delicious side orders and tempting desserts.

The carvery is a joy to behold, with juicy roast gammon, ham and beef casting their aromas across the restaurant. Accompanying your selection are seasonal vegetables and potatoes, it's great value for money.
