Bistrot Pierre - Nottingham
Bistrot Pierre, situated in the city centre, first opened its doors in 1994 and has been a hotspot for great-value French cooking and accessible, seasonally inspired menus ever since. The culinary line-up showcases French classics like steak frites and boeuf Bourguignon alongside a medley of regional favourites.
Housed within a former bank, the restaurant’s interior is brought up-to-date with a trendy mix of brick walls, leather banquettes and ornate mirrors – all enhanced by the natural light.
Ideally located near the theatre, Bistrot Pierre offers a popular two-course prix-fixe evening menu, which is a steal at just £15.95. There are menus for all manner of occasions, so whether you’re swinging by for a midweek treat, a casual lunch or a three-course feast, you’re sure to be impressed by the artfully presented cuisine that’s prepared to the highest standard. Make the most of the prix-fixe lunch menu, which represents fantastic value for money.
The evening menu takes its inspiration from travels around France, and features starters such as deep-fried Brie in a crisp rosemary crumb, and king prawns sautéed in Goan butter served with grilled artisan bread. Follow with a sumptuous main course of pan-fried chicken breast in a rich bacon, shallot, mushroom and red wine sauce, or perhaps the fi shcake with sautéed spinach, a soft poached egg, and Dijon and herb buerre blanc will take your fancy. The desserts are the utterly mouth-watering, so make sure you save room for the likes of sticky toffee pudding and chocolate brownie with warm pouring chocolate sauce and salted caramel ice cream.
As with any true French establishment, the vast wine list plays an important role, and features an offering to complement any dish. With gluten-free dishes, a host of vegetarian and vegan options and a dedicated children’s menu too, Bistrot Pierre is a fantastic spot for all.
