The Nag’s Head
The Nag’s Head at Castle Donington is a traditional country pub with heaps of character, and has gone from strength to strength under the ownership of experienced restaurant proprietor Jad Otaki. Food is very much the focus here, and the à la carte reﬂects this with expertly crafted modern European dishes that break the mould of traditional pub offerings. Start with champignons à la crème, a dish of fresh button mushrooms in a soured cream, tarragon and garlic sauce, before pressing on to sea bass in white wine and butter sauce, or entrecôte steak in a hot pimento sauce with mushrooms and garlic. In 2016, a beautifully designed extension was opened, creating a delightful space for private functions and corporate gatherings.
