The Grange Hotel is a cosy little privately-owned hotel in the picturesque market town of Newark. In addition to its charming accommodation and stunning gardens The Grange Hotel's finest attribute is its restaurant, Cutlers.

Cutlers' à la carte menu is extensive and has something for everyone, combining traditional British cuisine with other exciting European flavours. I started with fresh-tasting grilled goat's cheese with a beetroot and orange salad, while my companion went for smooth, rich chicken liver paté served with a sweet apple, nut and date chutney. Both starters showcased a sophisticated array of flavours and a chef in fine form. Our mains were just as alluring, with the baked fillet of salmon in a spinach, white wine and prawn sauce just melting in the mouth. The pan-fried lamb cannon with Savoy cabbage, carrots and parsley potatoes that my companion selected was hearty and rich. Satisfied as we were, and much as we tried, we couldn't resist dessert, so we tucked into both the bread and butter pudding and lemon tart - we didn't regret our greed one bit. The food at Cutlers is simply superb and only one of the many reasons to visit this charming little hotel. Sunday lunch is served here every week and features such delights as roast rib-eye of beef. So whether you're staying or spending a relaxing Sunday enjoying fantastic food and wine, Cutlers at the Grange is every bit as good as it first appears.
