Mobius Bar and Restaurant
Whilst admiring the contemporary artwork, exposed brickwork and decor of coffee, gold and cream shades, we chose from a menu brimming with Thai and Mediterranean flavours. The menu also features grills and sandwiches which are served at the bar and are ideal for a snack if you are on the move. My tom yum soup, palate cleansing and strongly gingery, and the Thai platter were beautifully presented. Ideal for those who can't decide, the platter was overflowing with prawn filo rolls, vegetable spring rolls, pork samosas, chicken satay and Thai fishcakes, all satisfyingly tasty with plenty of big flavours.
Staying with the Thai theme, we selected a chicken Thai green curry accompanied by fragrant jasmine rice and sweet basil stir-fried noodles with lightly battered and sweetly juicy prawns. Both main courses, like the starters, were delightful to behold, with punchy flavours and a surprising hint of Mediterranean influence in the form of chunky chargrilled vegetables.
Finally dessert - always the highlight of the night for my irrepressibly sweet tooth. We just had to try the Mobius special dessert and the intriguingly named Chocolate Junkyard. The special dessert was a generously topped, gooey, toffee flavoured delight whilst the Chocolate Junkyard was quite simply heavenly. Consisting of chocolate cake, chocolate mousse, warm snickers topping and chocolate shavings and accompanied by a white chocolate curl, this temptation on a plate rounded off my evening in decadent style.
