This delightful village inn, found nestling amid pleasant countryside, is quite a find. The Red Lion is owned and run by Shelly and Dave who offer genuinely warm and relaxed hospitality. The restaurant serves food every day from midday until 9pm and the inn has six bedrooms offering bed and breakfast accommodation.

The dining room is simple but cosy. The menu is comprehensive with the innovative idea of allowing diners to opt for the size of meal they prefer. There is the 'lion share' for those with a hearty appetite or the 'lion cub' for those who want a smaller-sized meal. The 'young cubs' menu is aimed at younger visitors but it's also popular with those who fancy a small snack. Everything is reasonably priced, superbly cooked and totally delicious. We enjoyed homemade starters of leek and potato soup and a superb chicken paté, followed by an excellent rump steak for me, and baked salmon with fresh hollandaise for my guest. To follow there were a number of tempting homemade sweets including freshly baked apple pie drenched in creamy custard. All meals are prepared fresh to order using high-quality locally sourced produce. You're in for a treat at The Red Lion - here you can enjoy wonderful home-cooked food and a range of cask ales and excellent wines
