The Paper Mill Inn takes pride of place in the quaint hamlet of Whitehough, across the road from its more formal sister pub The Old Hall Inn. The Paper Mill boasts eight hand pulls of traditional craft ale and, if it takes your fancy, a drink bought in one pub can be enjoyed in the other. This is especially handy in summer when The Paper Mill’s several beer patios become attractive sun-traps; one of the patios is also sheltered and heated during the colder months.
The Paper Mill’s speciality is delicious hand-stretched Romano pizza, with options ranging from spicy shredded beef, to anchovies, lemon and dill-infused sour cream. The menu caters to everybody, boasting vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options tasty enough to tempt any palate. Expect toppings as diverse as chimichurri-marinated Quorn, artichoke hearts, sweet potato hummus and beetroot and pumpkin seed pesto, alongside the option of melted vegan cheese. The talented chefs have also created pop-up street food kitchens, showcasing a range of international cuisine. This friendly, laid-back venue is geared towards walk-in visitors, but large groups of eight to ten can book a table for pizza or street food. The two upstairs dining rooms can also be hired in advance for larger group gatherings and are an attractive choice for events.
