Bulls Head Ale and Curry House
Pubs and Bars with Restaurants
102 Church Street, Old Glossop, SK13 7RN
The Bull's Head Ale and Curry House is located in the market town of Glossop and is a firm favourite with locals. Dating back to 1607, its name is thought to have come from a papal bull proclamation requiring that provision be made for travellers in every parish, or possibly from the bull baiting that took place on nearby Castle Hill. If you're looking for somewhere to stay, the Bull's Head is a lovely choice, with four comfortable en-suite rooms on offer. In the restaurant, you'll find delicious curries prepared by skilled staff and in the bar there are beverages from well-kept cellars, including Robinsons Unicorn and Hatters - as well as a healthy dose of light-hearted banter. Indeed, ales-lovers will be right at home here, and the games room is a good shout for those interested in a round of pool, too.
