The team at Russi have created a contemporary, chic dining environment with a view to providing a place for guests to chill out and enjoy some of their favourite cuisine. Settle down amongst comfy sofas, elegant furnishings and ambient lighting and enjoy dishes carefully chosen to reflect the characteristics of Indian culture and culinary tradition. Knowledgeable staff will be able to tell you about the origins of dishes, the tandoori method of cooking and the Himalayan sages who used herbs and spices as a way of balancing the body's metabolism. With ideas such as this in mind, the aim at Russi has clearly been to create dishes that nourish body, mind and soul.

Start with garlic chicken tikka, king prawn shashlik or paneer chat perhaps. If you're feeling adventurous, try the enigmatic Chocolate Exotica - Russi's new fusion dish made with chicken or lamb. Otherwise, stick to delights such as chicken gorkali, comprising an exotic mix of spices, red and green chillies, garlic, ginger, tomatoes, Nepalese chilli sauce and fresh lemon juice. There's also plenty of choice for traditionalists, such as balti, karahi and jalfrezi-style dishes. Finish with kulfiice cream or pineapple fritter. Visit midweek for special deals, or opt for a takeaway - there's free delivery on all orders over £10 that fall within a three-mile radius of the restaurant.
