Three Roofs Café
Hope Valley is found in the stunning rural Peak District and is famous for its Blue John gemstone, historic castle and incredible landscapes. Tucked away within the depths of the rolling countryside is the quintessential traditional village of Castleton, home to an abundance of jewellers, gift shops, and the delightful Three Roofs Café.
The Three Roofs Café is run by Lynn Sykes, who is local to the area and often visited the café as a child. A selection of cakes, traybakes, sausage rolls and homemade hot meals are made on-site throughout the day in the bakery, using as much local produce as possible. For the early-riser, a wide range of breakfast options are available, including the full English made with locally sourced bacon, sausage, and eggs, the smoked salmon breakfast, and baked avocado and egg. Alternatively, you could enjoy fresh croissants accompanied by a smooth roasted coffee. Light lunches include freshly baked artisan baguettes with a wide range of fillings, such as warm wild mushroom with melted Stilton and walnuts, and the mouth-watering pulled pork with melted cheese. Other light bites include toasted wraps including Mediterranean roasted vegetables with mozzarella and pesto, as well as the toasted ciabatta with locally sourced sausage and homemade caramelised onion. Additionally, a range of salads served with flatbreads, olives and sundried tomatoes can be found at this foodie’s dream. Guests can also choose from heartier dishes such as homemade chilli, lasagne, freshly beer-battered haddock and the famed Three Roofs meat and potato pie with mushy peas and homemade hand-cut triple-cooked chips. Gluten-free options are also available – just ask a member of the friendly team for assistance.
A dog-friendly haven, the Three Roof’s is extremely popular with locals and visitors exploring the surrounding area. With delightful staff, fresh, locally sourced food and homemade recipes, a visit to the Three Roof’s Café is truly a fantastic way to relax and unwind during a morning or afternoon. Fancy staying over? The beautiful stone-built café also houses a stylish, perfectly located one bedroom holiday let.
