Three Roofs Café
Hope Valley is a stunning rural district known for its blue limestone, historic castles and incredible mining landscape. Tucked away within the depths of this rolling countryside is the quintessentially traditional village of Castleton, home to Three Roofs Café.
Three Roofs Café is run by Lynn Sykes, who has known the area all her life and visited the café often as a child. The selection of cakes and sweet treats are all made on-site, and the delicious food is freshly cooked throughout the day, using local produce where possible. A range of breakfast options, such as a full English, smoked salmon and scrambled eggs, and freshly baked croissants, are served from 9.30am. Choose from a lunch menu of favourites including freshly beer-battered fish with mushy peas, and piping-hot lasagne, all served with crisp salad and thick-cut chips. Lighter lunch options, including a range of toasted ciabattas with various fillings, are popular with the hordes of hungry walkers that pass by. Dogs and muddy boots are welcome, and free Wi-Fi is available.
Three Roofs will offer special monthly evening openings as of summer 2017. Visitors will be treated to three courses of outstanding, bistro-style fare, and evenings will be informal and convivial, with head chef Mark Gatty cooking up a storm for visiting diners. The beautiful Derbyshire-stone-built café also houses a stylish one-bedroom, perfectly located holiday let.
