High Street, Tideswell, Buxton, SK17 8LD
Happy hosts Gerry and Judy warmly welcome all who find their way to the Star Inn, a traditional pub with bags of character. Settled on the edge of the Pennine range, the Star Inn sits between the three picture-postcard villages of Baslow (close to Chatsworth House), Bakewell and Buxton. In this scenic hotspot, a wealth of pursuits await you.

After an exhausting day discovering this lauded region, relax and refuel at this friendly inn, with its homely accommodation and hearty meals. Make the most of the bed-and-breakfast service - there are three letting rooms, two doubles and one single, all reasonably priced: £60 per night for a family room for three, £45 for a double and £30 for a single.

Food-wise, the menu is chock-full of simple, familiar dishes with big flavours. Sirloin, rump and gammon steaks are all present and correct, or for something a little more exotic try the Mediterranean vegetable risotto which is brimming with fresh ingredients. Curries, omelettes, salads and sandwiches are proof of the menu's variety. Amazingly, Sunday roasts are just £3.95. Food connoisseurs will be glad to know that food-themed nights are also in the pipeline, while for real ale enthusiasts there are weekly changing cask ales such as Marston's Burton Bitter.

Visit the Star Inn and immerse yourself in a thoroughly enjoyably weekend of sight-seeing, fun activities and good food.
