The Waterloo Inn, located just off the Tissington Trail, is a perfect find after being out and about exploring the magnificent Peak District - even your muddy boots are welcome. Housed in a building over 350 years old, The Waterloo Inn is full of charm and character, with a cosy open fire. It's a great place to sit back and enjoy one of the five cask ales available, which includes local brews from Peak Ales, Wincle Beer and Whim Ales at Hartington, or to join in with a game of darts or dominoes. The relaxed, warm atmosphere has you feeling like a regular even on your first visit, and the hearty, wholesome food is sure to guarantee a return trip.

The menu consists of home-cooked pub classics made using ingredients from as nearby as possible, and chef's specials, which make use of seasonal produce. You might enjoy a starter of superb chicken liver paté before a homemade lamb and mint pie with shortcrust pastry. The team at The Waterloo have also worked with a local butcher to create the Biggin Banger, to be served with creamy mash or a seven inch Yorkshire pudding. Also offering vegetarian options, there is something for every palate on this seasonal menu.

Why not use The Waterloo Inn as a convenient base from which to explore the surrounding area, and pitch up at the on-site campsite? This traditional venue is well-suited to walkers, cyclists, campers and caravanners, and your four-legged friends are welcome, too
