The Ashford Arms
This traditional country inn can be found in the heart of the village and offers a warm welcome to all. Inside, oak beams and Derbyshire stone walls add to its cosy charm, while outside, a large garden beckons warm weather. The light and airy conservatory is also a favourite spot in which to enjoy lunch or dinner, and for those wishing to stay longer, eight en-suite bedrooms are available. Dining at The Ashford Arms is a treat. Award-winning owner and head chef Rob Muxlow is well known for his Sunday lunches and, in particular, his enormous Yorkshire puddings. Throughout the week, themed menus include sizzle and griddle, farmhouse pie night and steak night. When we called in, we sampled the melt-in-the-mouth fillet steak and delicious duck breast in orange and ginger sauce. To round off our lovely meal, our choice of indulgent chocolate fudge brownie cheesecake scored top points.
