It was in 1999 that Tim Pick and his cousin Nicky Chambers came together to form Pick's Organic Farm Shop. Tim, his family and his ancestors have been farming in the area for almost a century now, meaning that the produce on offer at this family-run establishment will have been grown, reared, or sourced and stocked with the kind of expert experience that only time can bring.

The Farm Shop itself offers a huge range of goods, from alcohol to organic fruit and veg, as well as the farm's own range (quaintly named Pick-Nik after the two proprietors) of homemade chutneys, jams, marmalades and freshly baked cakes. The Butcher's Shop, meanwhile, is run by expert butcher Martin Billson, and is the place to go for choice cuts of organic poultry, beef, pork and lamb, as well as in-season game. Martin is also more than happy to offer advice and cooking tips on whatever cut of meat you've picked for your dinner that night. The final string to Pick's bow has to be the tea shop and garden. Customers love to return for the indulgent organic cream teas and traditional afternoon teas, which, considering the shop is also located to allow the best views across the hills and fields of Leicestershire, is no surprise at all
