The Blue Bell in Bolsover was built in the mid 1700s and oozes real character - you'll see delightful features such as the 300-year-old oak beams supporting the original wattle and daub ceiling.

Six real ales are always on offer here, as well as a selection of premium lagers and keg beers. The beer garden to the rear of the pub has one of the most spectacular panoramic views in Derbyshire and on warm summer evenings the landlord, Kevin, fires up the outdoor pizza oven and will cook you a pizza of your own design. Inside and out - weather permitting - you can order and eat freshly prepared homemade food from their regular menu or the weekly changing specials board. Kids eat for free between 5pm and 7pm, Wednesdays to Fridays (conditions apply). All the food is locally sourced and The Blue Bell is famous for its portion sizes, so bring your appetite.

Free Wi-Fi is of course offered to customers using their facilities, making it a popular meeting place for a working lunch, not far from the M1 Junction 29A. Their bathrooms must be among the cleanest in the county. You won't find loud music or bad language, and loutish behaviour is simply not tolerated. The Blue Bell has a relaxing atmosphere, perfect for re-discovering the art of conversation.
