The Cookery School, located in the Glasgow's city centre, is the food-lover's best-kept secret. It is renowned for its wide range of courses - from cookery courses for the budding chef, wine and whisky tasting, brand-new cupcake courses and cocktail-making classes for mixologists in the making, to corporate events and hen parties. All classes are hands on, with everything you need provided, including ingredients, equipment, recipes and even an apron.

Brian Hannan founded The Cookery School six years ago, inspired to do so because he could not find anywhere to learn how to cook; these days, it is still the only cookery school in central Glasgow.

The popular one-day courses cost just £99.50 and are perfect for spending quality time with that special someone, enjoying a relaxing spell away from the hustle and bustle of daily life, or for keen cooks looking to pick up some tricks of the trade. With something for everybody - beginners and professionals alike - you will be sure to find a course that takes your fancy. If you prefer, try one of the evening classes - at only £29.50, these include the Friday Cook 'n' Eat, cocktail making and even tutored wine and whisky tasting, while Saturday Evening Heavens are £40.

The one-day team-building and corporate entertainment courses are very popular, as are the hen party evenings, which have fabulous themes. Chocoholics will be delighted with the Chocolate Heaven course - this fun-filled evening begins with a glass of sparkling wine, followed by a chocolate cookery course and a delicious supper created by the chef. And for dessert, you'll be able to sample your own chocolatey creations. Cookery
