Whether you opt for the show-stopping chef’s special ravioli filled with smoked scamorza cheese and aubergine served with cherry tomato sauce, or the slow-cooked belly pork with caramelised vanilla apple and anise jus – to name just a couple of the tempting dishes on their menu – you won’t find the food at Angelo’s Trattoria wanting on any level – you’ll just want more and more. If you visit at lunchtime or happy hour every Monday to Saturday, you can enjoy starters for just £3.95, such as their funghi piccanti: homemade toasted bread topped with mushrooms in a tomato, chilli and garlic sauce; or their scrumptious deep-fried Camembert with sliced pear, drizzled with honey and served with cranberry sauce. You can also enjoy any pizza or pasta dish off of their ‘tradizionale’ section for only £5.95 which includes a great selection of incredible Italian dishes including a mouth-wateringly tasty tagliatelle dish with salmon in a creamy sauce with onions and tomato and the Diavola pizza topped with tomato, mozzarella and spicy salami. If you’re still hungry for more after all that, you’ll be easily tempted by the daily selection of decadent desserts on offer. Their Eton mess, caramel and Maltesers cheesecake, homemade vanilla pannacotta, and Nutella cheesecake are standouts.

The menu also features some less traditional Italian dishes such as their stunning homemade Italian-style beef burger with homemade bread and chunky chips, as well as an ever-changing specials menu, with past highlights having included lime and paprika marinate chicken and chorizo spiedino, fresh lobster and mussel linguine, and homemade strozzapretti, pesto and fresh burrata.
