Enjoy a meal to remember at The Fordwich Arms in Britain’s smallest town. Recently refurbished, the restaurant has already received rave reviews from Fordwich’s 400 residents and from visitors to this quaint and stunning town in Kent. Situated on the River Stour, this gorgeous Georgian building is a warm and cosy haven with two log fireplaces either side of the beautiful 1930’s bar set within the traditional pub décor. During the summer, the riverside restaurant gives rise to a charming dining terrace, complete with a beautiful dog-friendly green garden with picturesque views over the River Stour.

Recently awarded the Observer’s prestigious Young Chef of the Year Award, chef-patron Dan Smith, along with his partner Tash Norton and sommelier Guy Palmer-Brown, have completely transported this homely haunt into a smash hit with their modern approach to seasonal food that showcases the best local Kent produce sourced direct from local farms and producers. Served to you in a cosy, relaxed, and comfortable environment, the staff are welcoming and attentive and will always make you feel right at home.

To take advantage of the amazing local produce and to keep up with head-chef Dan’s culinary creativity, the menu changes constantly. Each and every dish that comes out of the restaurant is perfectly presented. Whether you’re after traditional fare such as their roast Lydden Court Farm lamb, roast hump of Hereford beef, or roast suckling pig, or want to try one of their delicious desserts like the baked cheesecake with Kentish strawberries or their caramelised white chocolate mouse, you won’t be disappointed. Alternatively, take your tastebubs on a tantalising journey and try their tasting menu. The tasting menu features lobster, Cornish turbot, smoked trout, a choice of desserts and a selection of freshly baked bread and home-churned butter and starts at just £65.

Even thought this delightful pub retains all its classic pub features, this is far from your average country pub and truly has to be experienced to be understood.
