Now in its 23rd year, La Regata is a stunning and stylish small Spanish restaurant situated in the heart of the Southampton waterfront on Town Quay. Enticing guests with its magical Mediterranean mood and atmosphere, the restaurant has been in successful business for over two decades and it’s clear to see why. With a wide range of authentic tapas and main menu selections on offer, guests keep returning again and again and are always encouraged to sample the sensational Spanish dishes off of the regularly changing specials board.

When we visited La Regata, we were charmed by its character and extensive choice of simply exquisite Spanish cuisine on the menu. Although it was almost too hard to choose, we eventually decided on a medley of tantalising tapas followed by the pollo chiclana off the specials board – a chicken dish with king prawns and chorizo in tomato and chilli sauce. Due to its waterfront location, we also couldn’t help opting for the fresh sea bass served with garlic butter and a herb sauce. We were not disappointed.

Boasting first-class flavours, perfect presentation, and plentiful portions, the kitchen team’s culinary skills are sure to impress you as much as they did us. Attentive, friendly, and welcoming, the staff will ensure your day out is a one-of-a-kind dining experience. With its upbeat and spacious dining room and al fresco dining area available during the sunnier months, the food and atmosphere of this charming and characterful restaurant will transport you to the white beaches and warm weather of the Costa del Sol. There’s simply no better restaurant in Southampton to escape to.
