This July 13th, to mark Hampshire Food Festival running throughout the month, Ideal Collection is proud to be putting on its premier local produce dinner at No.5 Bridge Street in Winchester with James Durrant, showcasing the region’s very best locally sourced ingredients. Set to be an unforgettable evening celebrating Hampshire’s finest offerings, taste, quality, and community are cornerstones of Ideal Collection’s ethos and these qualities will be on full display here.

A flavoursome four-course dinner featuring fantastic local produce such as braised Hampshire pork, chalk stream trout, braised Chalcroft farm dry aged beef rib, and New Forest strawberries, this meal is one not to be missed. The main course of beef rib, roasted fillet and salt-baked Sopley beetroots will also show off a salsa verde comprising ingredients grown at their Community Roots allotment – a project which inspires, supports, and encourages people in the local community to get back on their feet after drug or alcohol addiction, homelessness, or mental health issues. A joint partnership between Ideal Collection and Southampton Voluntary Services, this project has proven to be a huge success since it was born five years ago.

As a Corporate Member of Hampshire Fare, local produce has always been something the Ideal Collection group has been passionate about and they are thrilled to get the opportunity to display this in full force with their first, and hopefully not last, local produce dinner. Head Chef James Durrant more than understands the importance of supporting local farmers across the community in his cooking. Winning the sought-after main course on 2014’s “The D-Day Banquet” edition of BBC 2’s Great British Menu and having worked in some of the UK’s top restaurants, James’ show-shopping four-course menu will thrill your tastebubs, highlighting Hampshire fare at its finest.

This event, kicking off at 7.30pm, also includes a complimentary award-winning glass of bubbly on arrival courtesy of local winery Hattingley Valley English Sparkling Wine, and if eating meat isn’t your thing, there’s also a 4-course vegetarian option available.

In addition to this celebratory dinner, to mark Hampshire Food Festival, Ideal Collection is helping to inspire kids to eat more veg by holding Organic Veg Cookery Workshops at The Bugle in Hamble this July.

Book now to ensure you don’t miss out on this great British banquet and be sure to visit Ideal Collection’s website and follow them on social media so you don’t miss out on more exciting events like this one in the future.
