On Wednesday 18th July this year, just a couple of weeks after American Independence Day, Monk Cocktail Bar in Buxton is throwing a totally awesome celebration of all things Americana.

If you haven’t visited this unpretentious and relaxed cocktail bar yet, you’re truly missing out. The perfect place to enjoy a few cocktails and beers with your mates, the décor is truly trendy and timeless with industrial wood and brickwork throughout the interior – making it the perfect location to celebrate all that’s good from the land of the free and the home of the brave.

With its warm lighting and intimate mezzanine floor, this atmospheric space will transport you across the Atlantic for one night only. With bourbon, great music, and free popcorn all night, what better way to spend a hump day than with great drinks, fun snacks, and the best company!?

Known for its fascinating list of creative cocktails and mouth-watering ingredients that change with the seasons and make the most of fresh fruits and herbs supplied by the local greengrocer, this bar is a true beaut and deserves to become one of your regular haunts to hang out with friends. The team members are attentive, well-informed and highly trained, and are always there to help with any booze-related question you have or recommend the perfect tipple for your tastes.

This July 18th, the bar is thrilled to welcome Ross Thompson from Hi-Spirits to talk everything American Whiskey. Bringing with him four of the best bourbons to sample, the team at Monk will be pairing the beverages with bite-sized nibbles for you to inhale all evening. Throughout the night they’ll also be a small special menu of cocktails designed to highlight these spirits made with White Dog, Eagle Rare, Stagg Junior and Buffulo Trace, with whispers of some totally rad and rare spirits joining the party too. In terms of live entertainment, the most excellent Easy Feet will be returning to Monk from 9.30pm to get your toes tapping.

Tickets for the guided tasting are priced at £15. To ensure you don’t miss out on this truly terrific one-night-only event, email Jamie at Jamie@buxtoncafebar.co.uk to reserve your spot or call 01298 24255. Or alternately, just pop down to the bar and have a chat with the guys.
