To coincide with the refurbishment of the historic 400 yr old Dining Room at Goldsborough Hall, an unannounced visit from the AA inspector has awarded Goldsborough their 2nd AA rosette for culinary excellence, with some dishes worthy of a 3rd.
Owner Mark Oglesby said, “I am delighted that the AA has considered us worthy of our second rosette and for it to be awarded just as we’ve completed the refurbishment of the dining room is perfect timing. The hall has such an important history that it is great to be able to share it with visitors. We have held AA 5 gold stars for accommodation since we first started and have been chasing this second dining rosette for some time, so congratulations should go to our brilliant Head Chef Adam Thur and the innovation he’s brought to the Dining Room. It’s fantastic that he has taken Goldsborough to another level.”
Adam joined Goldsborough Hall 8 months ago as their Executive Chef. His style of cooking is modern British, using seasonal ingredients in a highly creative yet simple style. His ambitious future for the kitchen runs alongside the building of a new 1200sq ft greenhouse in which to cultivate more home-grown, organic produce on-site. The Goldsborough story is ever-evolving as their quest for excellence, flair and imagination continues.
