lima floral

Nestled just five minutes’ walk from Leicester Square station, Lima Floral is the sister restaurant of Michelin starred Lima Fitzrovia; an expansion of the already well renowned Peruvian restaurant.

Far from being a duplication of its successful sibling though, Lima Floral takes what it knows and expands on it; creating a wider more diverse food offering, whilst still maintaining the impeccable flavours, textures and cocktails that has made it so popular with critics and customers alike.

Upon arrival, it’s modern, spacious décor helps you feel relaxed whilst the well-stocked bar strikes you as soon as you enter.

Once seated, staff attentively look after you throughout your meal; knowledgably taking you through the various dishes available if needed, whilst not intruding on your social time. The cocktail list, whilst not vast, certainly ticked all the boxed once they arrived, and were a good sign of things to come.

The menu is contemporary Peruvian cuisine, as you’d expect; from the snacks to the desserts, you’re in for a treat. Yuca and Plantain crisps are as light as you’d want a snack to be before a full three course meal, whilst the starters include twists on Peruvian classics – the chicken Causas were particularly delicious.

A wide selection of both meats (mains-tierras), fish (mains-mar) and vegetables ensure that everyone is catered for. The Lamb Rump Amazonia and Hake dishes were particularly incredible – the lamb cooked to perfection; tender and seasoned amazingly whilst the hake was full of flavour.

For dessert, no one will be disappointed. The Alfajores were this writer’s particular favourite – delicious shortbread style biscuit, with dulce de leche and dulce de leche ice cream. However, if that doesn’t take your fancy, then their suspiro ardiente (meringue on lucuma and banana cream) or tomate de arbol amazonico (tree tomato mousse with 75% Amazonian chocolat and maca crisps), to name but a few, will certainly finish your meal off perfectly.

If you’re looking for incredible Peruvian food and delicious cocktails in a fantastic central location, then Lima Floral is for you. They also run a fantastic brunch menu which is well worth trying.
