Visit Offley Place for an exquisite experience. Built in the 16th century and
surrounded by 27 acres of lush parkland, it feels a world away from the hustle
and bustle of modern life.
The atmosphere at Oscars Pizza Company is lively and informal, the service is friendly and efficient, and the pizza is without fault. We recommend giving the spicy Enzo Ferrari a sample – think crispy dough topped with gooey mozzarella, fresh tomatoes, pepperoni and chilli peppers.
Located on a picturesque walking route in the quaint hamlet of Ayot Green, this 17th-century coaching inn oozes character. Offering gourmet food in a relaxed atmosphere with fabulous service – and the option of walking off your meal afterwards – there’s every reason to visit The Waggoners.
Chez Mumtaj is a two-AA-rosetted boutique-style restaurant that showcases a unique style of French-Asian haute cuisine. Located in St Albans, this opulent restaurant has a sizeable collection of accolades to its name – visit for yourself and you’ll understand why.
If you’re looking to indulge your sweet tooth, do so in style at The Pudding Stop. Desserts are freshly made from scratch in the upstairs bakery each and every day, and include sticky toffee pudding, custard-filled profiteroles and gooey brownies. Need we say more?
Housed within an old hunting lodge overlooking the lake on the Brocket Hall estate is Auberge du Lac. It offers an exemplary dining experience, with dishes a feast for the eyes as well as the stomach. At the helm of the talented kitchen brigade is Matt Edmond, who we recently caught up with to discuss why he loves the Chilterns.
