Westbury-on-Trym restaurant scoops the title for the second consecutive year…
On Sunday 18th May, important folk from Bristol’s hospitality industry gathered in the Eat Drink Bristol Fashion tipis in Queen Square for the Bristol Good Food Awards 2014 ceremony. Voted for by the Bristol public and judged by local food experts, the Bristol Good Food Awards has been running since 2012 and has rewarded countless fantastic Bristol businesses for their contribution to the local food scene over the last few years.
One of the most sought-after awards is the ‘Best Restaurant’ gong, and in 2014, for the second year running, the title deservedly went to Casamia. Co-owners and head chefs Jonray and Peter Sanchez-Iglesias commented: ‘The Best Restaurant award is a wonderful accolade to receive from the Bristol Good Food Awards as this city is full of exceptional culinary talent and has such a huge array of cuisine to choose from.
We are very grateful to the judges and to our customers who voted for us; we always receive such great support from our local network and we are proud to represent Bristol as a serious foodie destination in the UK.’
So what can you expect from this award-winning restaurant over the coming months? Well, Casamia’s highly anticipated summer menu will be available from 16th June – make sure you book your spot sharpish to make sure you get a chance to try it. What’s more, throughout this year the restaurant will be opening its kitchen to some of the most distinguished chefs in the UK for one night only to cook alongside Jonray and Peter, including Paul Ainsworth on Wednesday 20th August and Tom Kerridge on Wednesday 22nd October.
