Eden Project and Knightor team up to create brand-new Eden Brut…

The Eden Project is renowned for being a centre of innovation that does all it can to support the local community, so it is apt that it has appointed neighbouring award-winning winery Knightor to create their first ever sparkling wine, Eden Brut.

Commenting on behalf of the Eden Project about this joint initiative, Andrew Holden, procurement director, says: ‘We’ve had a lot of demand for our own brand English sparkling wine for quite some time.  As we’re positioned just a few miles away from Knightor it made absolute sense to work with them to create our very own Eden Brut.

‘We’re delighted with the results. It’s only just gone on to our shelves and into our online shop and is already proving to be very popular.’

Proprietor of Knightor, Adrian Derx, has this to say about the partnership: ‘The Eden Project and our philosophy are very similar. Like Eden, here at Knightor we are committed to reducing our environmental impact, operating sustainably and supporting other local Cornish businesses.’

The wine’s fruity flavour is thanks to its blend of seyval blanc, reichensteiner, chardonnay, pinot blanc and pinot noir grapes. These were hand-picked from Knightor’s vineyards at Portscatho and Seaton, as well as other English vineyards. The grapes were then gently pressed and fermented in small batches in Knightor’s on-site winery prior to blending, before undergoing the secondary fermentation process and ageing in the bottle. The result is an immensely quaffable English sparkling wine that is sure to go down a storm with wine buffs and novices alike.

Eden Brut is a top choice for a cheeky lunchtime tipple on a warm summer’s day or a pre-dinner beverage to serve at an evening soiree. It has a light, floral aroma and a fruity flavour, making it fun, fizzy and festive wine to enjoy whenever you fancy a bit of bubbly indulgence.
