Cinnamon Soho, on London’s Kingly Street, is already well-known for its egg-shaped delights, having created its own revolutionary version of the classic Scotch egg, The Bangla Scotch Egg. It was listed in Time Out’s ‘100 Best Small Dishes in London 2012’ and enjoyed soaring popularity – so much so that it got the team thinking. What about an Easter egg-inspired menu for the long bank holiday weekend? Head chef Ramachandran Raju had soon come up with several sweet and savoury ways to turn the traditional idea of the Easter egg upside down – the result being a super egg-citing menu showcasing a range of Indian-inspired signature ‘balls’, that will be available between Friday 29th March and Monday 1st April. The price of the menu (£30 per person) includes a cocktail and a selection of appetisers to share. Guests will be treated to dishes such as tangy potato chaat in semolina shell, and crab and cod balls on a rock samphire ‘nest’ – it all sounds very delicious. The theme also extends to the drinks menu, which features the yummy Easter Egg Flip cocktail comprising Cognac, Tawny Port, Baileys, sugar and egg white and garnished with grated nutmeg.
