Torquay
Ocean Brasserie
Situated in the heart of Torquay, Ocean Brasserie opened its doors in July 2004 to much acclaim.
The modern, spacious dining rooms provide the perfect setting for former Rick Stein chef Neil Fanous's stylish, yet unpretentious cooking. Neil's wife, Justyna presides over the front of house providing friendly and efficient service. A visit to this restaurant is a sheer delight.
The roast fruits de mer with olive oil, garlic and soft herbs (£19.95) is a real masterpiece of seafood cookery featuring a vast selection of fresh, local shellfish.
The Daily changing menu comprises fresh fish and shellfish from nearby Brixham fish market. Although predominantly a seafood restaurant, meat and vegetarian dishes also feature on the menu. All the ingredients, where possible, are sourced locally and everything is home-made on the premises.
The wine list features some 40 carefully chosen wines of different origins and grape varieties, all with their own unique character, starting at a very reasonable £12.95 per bottle.
Since opening, Ocean Brasserie has become a very popular place to dine; therefore pre-booking is always a good idea.
