A warm welcome awaits you from Betch and his team of pirates at Hooks Bar & Grill and his latest venture the Cellar Bar & Restaurant @ Hooks. The Cellar Bar is open for the general public to enjoy its range of cocktails and music from their resident DJ Sparrow. For everyone who wishes to party the night away after their meal at either Hooks or The Cellar Bar, there is also a dance floor with the latest in music and lighting. The Cellar Bar is also available for private hire.

The established Hooks Bar & Grill specialises in steak and seafood with a lively Caribbean flavour. You can watch your selection of steak or seafood being cooked in the open kitchen, the focal point of the restaurant, once you've finished your first course.

From the legendary selection of appetisers, I chose garlic mushrooms (button mushrooms, chopped onions and garlic topped with grilled grated cheese). Another eye-catching starter is the combo for two (£8.95), a loaded plate of chicken wings, onion rings, breaded garlic mushrooms, chilli melts and potato wedges served with garlic mayo barbecue sauce.

Main courses consist mainly of steak and fish although there are also some good chicken, burger and veggie options. The seafood is delivered fresh daily from Brixham and always cooked to perfection - choose from king prawns, freshly caught lemon sole, tuna loin or swordfish. All main courses are served with house steak fries, spicy twisters, jacket or new potatoes and a choice of mixed salad or vegetables of the season.

From the dessert cabinet choose from Bailey's cheesecake, banoffee pie and chocolate gateau. For a taste of the Caribbean without the long flight, saunter on down to Hooks.
