With five real ales on tap and a menu that evolves with the seasons, The Cambridge Arms is a prime place to be for some quality drinks and tasty food made with local produce. Pop your head around the door here and you’ll see plenty of happy people dining on ever-popular dishes like London Pride beer-battered cod with chunky chips, tartare sauce and mushy peas; 12-hour cooked Wiltshire ham hock with poached free-range eggs and rustic chips; and the pie of the week, served with mash and seasonal vegetables. Various cold options are available too, including the pork platter that comes adorned wit pulled ham hock, prosciutto, chorizo, Hampshire pork sausage rolls, gherkins, ale chutney and rustic breads. The kitchen team use local and seasonal produce for dishes, as well as British-reared meat and sustainable fish where possible. The Cambridge Arms’ cherry on top has to be the fun Sunday night quiz, although the good-sized beer garden can’t be underrated either.
