Bar de Nada is an inticing tapas bar conveniently situated in the city's trendy Lace Market, immersed, but far from submerged, in Nottingham's lively night scene of bars, clubs and restaurants.

First impressions are of a vibrant, upbeat venue with a lively soundtrack. The decor is contemporary, quirkily suiting both the atmosphere and food - with its original, funky design of exposed brick walls, Meccano steel structures and contemporary abstract art, blended with an unusual twist of South American and Camden Town influence. A great place to meet people, the age group is wide, attracting a diverse, yet like-minded, clientele to enjoy the affable atmosphere.

Specialising in produce imported directly from Spain the menu is vast, with a choice of Spanish and world tapas, enabling you to sample authentic, challenging and tasty food and wines from around the world at affordable prices. Their highly popular cazuela de berenjenas is a supreme example - aubergines casseroled in a rich tomato and herb sauce and topped with melted cheese for a reasonable £3.30. Select as many tapas plates and accompaniments as you like, to create a varied and unusual meal - ideal for sharing with friends. With the tapas dishes being so moreish you'll be forgiven for having little space for dessert, but if you can't do without there is a light chocolate and Grand Marnier soft nougat to try. Coffee is also available and for beer drinkers, there's an amazing list of 34 beers from all over the globe. Looking for something straight after work? Well the meal deal runs from 5pm to 7pm Monday to Friday, when you can choose two selected tapas dishes and an accompanying potato dish, such as patatas bravas, with a pan fresco - freshly baked bread or pitta. The time you arrive is the price you pay, so if you arrive at 5.15pm you pay £5.15 and so on - make sure you get there early as they don't take bookings, great for early birds.

If you love a lively atmosphere that lifts you up a notch or two and like to share delicious Spanish and international cuisine at a very reasonable price, this could be just the place for you.
