The incredible dining experience at this sparkling fine-dining restaurant is one I won’t be forgetting in a hurry. We were greeted on arrival by the charming manager who led us to the lounge area. The knowledgeable sommelier was on hand to guide us through the wine list while we enjoyed a selection of exquisite canapés.

We were then shown through to the restaurant and a delectable amuse-bouche was brought to our table. Our starters followed: wild sea bass with orange oil emulsion and salted fennel for me and squab pigeon breast with confit pig’s cheek, butternut squash and ceps for my partner. For the main course, I chose roasted monkfish with romanesco purée and baby beets, while my partner opted for Welsh venison with honeyed root vegetables and hazelnut vinaigrette. The presentation and taste of every dish was outstanding. For dessert we indulged in glazed fig with honey parfait and heavenly hot chocolate pudding with blackcurrant and liquorice – each mouthful underlining our decision that this visit would not be our last.
