At The Bistro at Howden Park Centre in Livingston, head chef Scott Kirkham brings to the table a passion for quality food and a menu to excite a range of palates. Little bites and snack boxes are sure to keep the kids happy, while early-bird visitors can enjoy a fantastic choice of breakfasts. Lunchtime offers homemade takeaway soups, sandwiches and salads, as well as sit-down meals such as the delicious homemade beef and Parmesan meatballs.

The dinner menu, available on evenings when the arts centre is staging a performance, gives the opportunity to try outstanding flavour combinations based on the finest local ingredients, prepared and presented to the highest standards. Starters include dishes such as the crayfish, sorrel, ricotta and rocket tartlet, while main courses include the slow-cooked rump of lamb with fine herbs and creamy potato mash. To finish, the maple syrup and pecan tart is not to be missed, while the wonderful farm-produced cheeses are equally toothsome. To accompany your meal, choose from a well-rounded selection of classics from the wine list, or maybe something from the comprehensive bar instead.

Howden Park Centre was designed and built to celebrate every kind of art and creativity, and with such wonderful food served in stunning surroundings, the Bistro team certainly deserves its share of the applause.
