The Tower Hotel
Good, honest, homemade food never fails to put a smile on your face, and the hearty fare I enjoyed at The Tower Hotel certainly had that effect on me. This charming eatery serves traditional British food at its best in cosy, warm surroundings – a combination that locals and visitors alike flock to enjoy. To start, my companion and I ordered the tasty fresh haddock goujons with crispy salad, and a flavoursome chicken and vegetable soup served with a warm roll. Both were delectable, as were our mains. My partner devoured his tender beef and vegetable casserole with fluffy mashed potatoes, which he washed down with a refreshing pint of Tennent’s lager; meanwhile, I relished the succulent sea trout with chorizo and Dauphinois potatoes, accompanied by a refreshing glass of pinot grigio. A moreish dessert of chocolate cake with custard confirmed The Tower Hotel as an establishment I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend.
