A compact and stylish restaurant in the heart of the town of Hawick, Findlay's is a rustic, French-style brasserie with a beautiful decor that combines mellow wooden surfaces with contemporary colours. Chef and owner Simon is a local boy with credentials that boast experience both in the Borders and much further afield. But Findlay's is the place he has settled to show off his considerable skills in the kitchen. With his partner Ruth Graham taking an expert lead front of house, a definite warm welcome awaits guests.

The menu shows a passion for using local produce, changing every six weeks and showing support for the high calibre of Findlay's food producers. This is indeed a fine showcase for their wares. Some highlights from the lunch selection include the Scottish cheese fritters using Orkney Cheddar and Lairds Hill cheese, or the aptly named 'penne Robbie Burns' which sees haggis, turnip and bacon in a beef jus and tomato sauce, flavoured with fresh herbs. Evening choices may involve a crispy granary crouton layered with a slice of haggis and medallions of beef, all topped with a rich port and red wine jus.

The rich and varied menu provides something delicious to suit all tastes. A great place to visit and experience exciting cuisine using only the best of ingredients - the residents of Hawick are lucky to have this restaurant on their doorstep.
