The Hidden Lane Tearoom
Dainty as a doll’s house, The Hidden Lane Tearoom offers comfort food at its best. This peachy café is festooned with bunting, laden with vintage crockery and decked with wooden furnishings – but it’s the food that’s the icing on the cake.
Teas, coffees and a range of edible treats are the cornerstones of The Hidden Lane Tearoom. Catch up with a friend and share the high tea for two (£20) – a feast of finger sandwiches, creamy scones, a selection of homemade cakes and a pot of tea. For an extra £10, you can upgrade to the luxury high tea, which features gourmet sandwiches, fruit scones and more. Alternatively, the deli board delivers savoury treats like olives, hummus and cold meats, and there’s always a hearty stew or pasta of some sort simmering away in the kitchen.
Why not host a private party here? The Hidden Lane Tearoom is the perfect place for commemorating a special occasion such is its predilection towards nostalgic chic. If you have a hen do to celebrate, the café can be your very own princessdom, as vintage cups of Champagne are laid before you. The tearoom also has its own vintage crockery hire service – while you browse the chinaware, owner Kirsty Fitzgerald will make you tea and feed you scrumptious cake. An absolute delight.
