A taste of Scotland can be discovered at Fusion restaurant in Gourock, a converted coach house within easy reach of Glasgow and close to Gourock rail station. Fresh Scottish produce from Loch Fyne, Argyll and Orkney is combined in the flavoursome cuisine on offer at Fusion, making this simple yet stylish venue an absolute delight.

The artistic flair demonstrated throughout the restaurant continues into the newly extended dining area, providing a more intimate setting, ideal for those special occasions. Chefs Evelyn Docherty and Mary Robb vary their dishes to provide new creations and experiences for their regular clientele, so flavoursome starters might include Cullen Skink, pan-fried chicken livers with Orkney black pudding salad and mouth-watering pan-fried scallops with spring onion, dried cherry tomatoes and chilli balsamic dressing. Ales from Loch Fyne and speciality wines are the perfect accompaniment to the selection of main courses, which range from Gressingham duck and sirloin or fillet of beef to a refreshing fillet of Scottish salmon with tiger prawns, served with lime and chilli butter on a bed of wild creamed rice. In particular, the succulent Argyll saddle of venison wrapped in prosciutto and black pudding mousseline with creamed mash is outstanding. The beautifully presented desserts further confirm the superb quality inherent at Fusion, while the hospitable nature of Amy Beckett and her friendly staff confirm it as my newest treasured find
